I have a client who wants to use some older hardware to use as a test box for some niche benchmarking tools they have developed in-house. The server runs Win2k3, there's a QLogic QL2200 HBA (copper) and a set of PowerVault F630 trays, though for now I only have one hooked up to the HBA to keep things simple. The main problem I am having is that the client has no software or drivers for this equipment, so I scoured the internet for a QLA2200 driver and QLogic SANSurfer software. I cannot seem to figure out how to get the drives to group together in a vdisk. They are all set to the same LUN (0) but show up as 10 separate drives in Windows Disk Manager. None of them repond when I try to initialize them, not even an error. I think there was some dell-issued management software for the PowerVaould FC line, and that it is basically a re-brand of the EMC Clariion software for the same line, but it seems that this is only needed for the FC650 RAID controller, not for the simple 630 trays. I don't necessarily even have to have a single LUN, 10 separate disks would work too. Any ideas are soooooo welcome ![]() |
