Used DLTIV tapes in DLT1 drive - 05-19-2007 , 08:14 AM

Hi all,

i've got a bunch of DLT IV tapes which were previously used
in DLT7000 or DLT8000 drives. Short of buying new tapes i'd
like to reuse them in a DLT1 drive. Apparently the format
isn't compatible, so does anyone know a way to completely
erase the tapes so they can be used with a DLT1 drive?
